Archival Certificate

The School of Library and Information Science offers an 18-credit hour graduate certificate program in archives, museums and related fields.

The program aims to prepare students for careers in archives, museums, and related fields. The curriculum consists of courses centering on archival history, theory, methods, organization, and ethics. In addition, students must complete an archival practicum at an approved institution.

Students may pursue the certificate in conjunction with their MLIS degree or as a standalone credential. Students interested in pursuing this certificate must submit a separate application. For the standalone credential option, students must already possess or be enrolled in a master's degree program.

Except for the practicum, the certificate program is completed entirely online. No GRE or other test score is required. If completing the certificate concurrently with a master鈥檚, students can share up to 18 credit hours between their certificate and their degree program.
